Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. This role requires up to 60% travel, often with little notice. International travel is likely.
The Role
Embrace the forefront of automotive innovation as the Senior Manager of Global Electrical Strategy & Execution at GM. This strategic role is crucial in revolutionizing our approach to electrical launch processes worldwide, particularly focusing on our ambitious Electric Vehicle (EV) program launches and production scale-ups. With a leadership role rooted in a customer-centric philosophy, you will drive initiatives to improve Electrical First Time Quality (E-FTQ), reduce electrical warranty issues, and elevate the safety and functionality of electrical systems from the onset, solidifying GM's position as a leader in the EV industry.

  • This position will be a leader in the Global Manufacturing Electrical & Software Defined Vehicle organization. This is an integrated, technical organization consisting of members of various backgrounds across Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Product Development, and IT organizations focusing on electrical manufacturing performance in order to inspire customer confidence in GM's vehicles.
  • Capture standardized work and best practices in the Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) Launch Aid, the global vehicle development process (GVDP), and pre-production processes to move issue discovery and resolution "to the left," especially for manufacturing of the future initiatives such as all-virtual by MY25 and future GVDPs
  • Deliver on-time assembly verification test solutions and a vision for the future of vehicle assembly testing.
  • Support electrical verification hardware standards and installation including relationships with strategic suppliers, cultivating innovations, and tech support.
  • Assume responsibility for wire harness manufacturing processes, integrating advanced technologies and methodologies to set new standards in manufacturing and supplier quality requirements.
  • Elevate electrical teams' abilities at plant launches to meet and exceed manufacturing metrics (E-FTQ and electrical warranty) and other launch milestones in the context of accelerated EV launches.
  • Collaborate with the Service organization to unify efforts in defining and verifying service and repair procedures that are efficient for manufacturing sites and field operations.
  • Offer expertise to the GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) training program, preparing future leaders for upcoming challenges.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 10+ years manufacturing experience with a deep focus on vehicle electrical systems, manufacturing and quality processes, repairs, and particularly on Electrical First Time Quality (EFTQ)
  • Experience building product roadmaps from conception to production
  • Technical expertise focused on software within manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills to simplify complex technical issues for diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, set clear objectives, and drive results through visionary thinking and execution.
