Position Overview

General Summary:

The Corporate Communications Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing Honda North America's global media and communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the visibility of the HondaJet and the Honda North America brand on a global scale.
  • Conduct comprehensive regional consumer research to gain insights into customer decision-making trends, identify opportunities, and translate findings into actionable marketing and communication strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets worldwide.
  • Oversee the creation of press releases and other media materials in both English and Japanese.
  • Manage the planning and execution of press events at both national and international levels.
  • Direct social media initiatives and internal communication efforts.
  • Monitor media coverage across various platforms, including digital, print, and social media, and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Continuously analyze public relations and social media metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Foster collaboration with other Honda divisions to reinforce the Honda brand globally.
  • Assist in managing resources and events within the division.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Linguistics, or Analytics is required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong media relations skills and a genuine passion for communications.
  • Creative and enthusiastic about storytelling.
  • Exceptional writing abilities in both English and Japanese, with advanced proficiency for official documentation.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Japanese.
  • Familiarity with social media and public relations analytics tools.
  • Able to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open and effective communicator, willing to propose innovative ideas and challenge existing practices to advance Honda North America's mission.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent organizational skills.
  • Management capabilities with a focus on team motivation and support.
  • Curious and eager to learn, open to new experiences.
  • Reliable, highly organized, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

1. Incumbents may be exposed to operational noise, temperature variations, and other environmental factors.

2. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, and climbing as required by job duties.

3. Adherence to safety regulations and effective communication in Business English.

4. Capability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. with the assistance of company-provided equipment when necessary.
