Job Summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro is seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to join our Development team. This role will be responsible for supporting the team's success through event-related fundraising and requires strong interpersonal skills, general public relations skills, event planning skills, and an understanding of fundraising best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Execution
    • Build and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and donors to achieve event revenue goals.
    • Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to effectively implement best and proven practices to achieve fundraising goals.
    • Maintain an events calendar, prepare event budgets, handle event logistics, sponsor packets, RSVPs, and registration, and recruit volunteers, where applicable.
    • Provide leadership on assigned affinity build events, including Pride Build, Women Build, and the Bar Association Build, supporting peer-to-peer fundraising setup and general guidance to build teams.
  • Donor Acquisition and Stewardship
    • Provide leadership and coordination to development efforts targeting corporate sponsors by managing a pipeline of donors and continually seeking to identify new potential partners for build funding, unrestricted funding, and event sponsorships.
    • Utilizing moves management practices, steward corporate donors by providing quarterly touch-points.
    • Serve as the liaison to corporate partners for kick-offs, dedications, and scheduling of volunteer dates.
    • Represent Habitat Greensboro at corporate-related community events, including the Chamber and Guilford Business Association.
  • Women Build Giving Society
    • Provide leadership and coordination of recruitment, stewardship, and events for the Women Build Giving Society.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum B.A. or B.S.
  • Experience: Preferred 3 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, including cultivation and solicitation, event coordination, communication, and/or public relations.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, creative problem-solving, leadership, and teambuilding skills, ability to work with a variety of people in the community, and working knowledge of computers, including spreadsheets and databases.
