  • Company Profile: Established in 1995, our headquarters is located in Shenzhen, China, with operations in the US since 2008. The US division comprises approximately 30 employees, featuring a production facility and multiple offices.
  • Engineering Team Structure: The engineering department is unified, working on various products. Currently, the team consists of 4 engineers and 2 senior managers reporting to the Technical Team Director.
  • Management Role: Initially, the role may not include direct reports. As the team expands, opportunities for management responsibilities will arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical engineering initiatives for the design, development, and production of consumer electronic products.
  • Oversee the design and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, ensuring adherence to performance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the creation and upkeep of technical documentation, including design specifications, schematics, and BOMs.
  • Assess mechanical performance and reliability through rigorous analysis and testing of components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer engineering, manufacturing, NPI, and quality assurance, to enhance product design for manufacturability and quality.
  • Provide mentorship to junior mechanical engineers, sharing insights on design methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical design challenges, offering support and solutions.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to refine mechanical design processes and tools.
  • Act as a "working manager" by engaging in senior mechanical engineering tasks, including the development and analysis of mechanical design concepts and prototypes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred, and a Ph.D. is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in the consumer electronics sector.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role.
  • Expertise in part/module-level design to top assembly design, with specific experience in Cooling Systems, AI Servers, Motor Modules, Mesa Modules, Haptic Modules, and Hinge Modules.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical design principles for consumer electronics, including display, acoustic, antenna, EE, HWTE, and RF systems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading new product launches and experience in product development and qualification.
  • Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software such as Creo, NX, SolidWorks, or Unigraphics.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, including CNC, polishing, laser etching & welding, PVD, blasting, and adhesive dispensing.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools (FEA) and analytical techniques.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, DOE, and statistical process control methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese Mandarin.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Interview Process:

The interview process typically involves 2-3 rounds, including a technical interview, an HR interview, and a final interview with the Director or GM.

Additional Information:

As a company originating from China, we specialize in contract manufacturing for various consumer electronics brands. Employees gain extensive experience in the consumer electronics manufacturing field, supported by ample opportunities for career growth. Evening meetings may be required to accommodate colleagues and clients based in China. The engineering team's standard schedule is from 9:30 AM to 5 PM PST, with flexibility for late arrivals following late meetings.
