Citi Ventures is seeking a Senior Vice President to enhance their Fintech division.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulate Investment Strategies

  • Lead the identification of strategic business priorities
  • Analyze proposed investment strategies for prioritization
  • Oversee the development and refinement of the investment pipeline for key trends

Identify and Execute Investments in Unique Fintech Startups

  • Proactively source investment opportunities
  • Conduct preliminary deal assessments and disseminate information
  • Guide junior team members in deal evaluations
  • Facilitate new strategic investments and manage follow-on funding
  • Assist in negotiation and structuring of transactions

Oversee and Support Portfolio Companies

  • Manage the portfolio of existing investments
  • Engage with internal control functions for covered investments

Advance Commercialization Efforts

  • Monitor and promote the commercialization of portfolio companies
  • Provide guidance and support for commercialization initiatives
  • Encourage cross-Citi commercialization efforts

Contribute to Franchise Development and Talent Growth

  • Establish relationships across various product lines
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of relevant business sectors
  • Build connections and leverage broader innovation initiatives
  • Expand external networks within the fintech ecosystem
  • Represent Citi in external engagements
  • Foster strong relationships with team members
  • Supervise junior team members on investment proposals
  • Mentor AVPs and analysts within the team
  • Create and deliver training materials for the team

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in fintech-focused venture capital
  • Previous experience in technology or financial institution-focused investment banking or strategic consulting
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within teams
  • Strong capacity to articulate insights on potential investments
  • Ability to engage with Citi executives and clients
  • Experience in managing and developing talent

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from a prestigious institution, ideally in Economics, Engineering, or other analytical fields
