Position Overview: This role is an international assignment based in Canberra, Australia, with a commitment expected for a minimum duration of two years.

We are in search of a systems engineer to facilitate collaboration on GEOINT capabilities with both U.S. Government and global partners.

This unique on-site support position will deliver systems integration, administration, technical planning, verification, and maintenance assistance to defense organizations in Australia.

In collaboration with the Australian sustainment team, this role will engage in a wide array of IT-centric technical projects, which include systems administration on Linux and Windows platforms, capability verification, testing activities, documentation, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and issue reporting.

The ideal candidate will gain a comprehensive understanding of all facets of GEOINT/IMINT workflows, including tasking, collection, data transformation, delivery, exploitation, and reporting, while providing consultation on IT systems and capabilities that support these workflows.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Linux systems administration and operations
  • Proficient in Windows systems administration and operations
Must possess a TS/SCI security clearance to commence employment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Shell scripting expertise
  • Networking knowledge
  • Experience working with international clients
  • Familiarity with GEOINT/Geospatial concepts
  • Transition to operations (TTO), IT Governance, and system documentation experience
  • System architecture and engineering skills
  • Proficiency in Confluence/Jira tools within an Agile framework
  • Understanding of DEVOPS/DEVSECOPs, microservices/containerization, or CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capacity to operate under consultative guidance
  • Background in IT or Engineering with relevant qualifications (e.g., BS/BA or MS/ME)
  • Attention to detail
Security Clearance Requirement: This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens for consideration.

Work Schedule: Lockheed Martin offers a variety of flexible work schedules to accommodate our employees. Standard schedules typically consist of 40 hours over a five-day work week, with options for condensed schedules that provide additional time away from the office, in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Role: Standard Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week.
