Senior Capital Projects Leader

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead capital project execution for a portfolio of initiatives across various sites.
  • Identify critical issues and proactively address them to prevent project challenges.
  • Promote a Zero Incident Mindset and ensure safety principles are upheld.
  • Facilitate effective communication among personnel involved in capital projects, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance (EPCOM).
  • Oversee project execution in alignment with established timelines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Manage construction contractors to ensure accountability for safety and quality of work.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction contractors to ensure compliance with agreements.
  • Communicate upcoming work projections to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Encourage the use of Eastman Capital Process and implement appropriate Capital Processes.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary building permits.
  • Utilize best-value practices to manage project scope and changes effectively.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project plans, estimates, schedules, and constructability assessments.
  • Work with Project Controls personnel to monitor, report, and document project progress, providing feedback on budget and schedule deviations.
  • Evaluate and report on project performance, ensuring resource availability for project schedules and execution strategies.
  • Review and approve project change orders as necessary.
  • Participate in external benchmarking activities for assigned capital projects.
  • Lead teams focused on work process improvement and project-related issues.
  • Consider safety, cost, and schedule in overall project planning to ensure objectives are met at optimal value.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of combined experience in executing Capital Projects within Industrial Construction, Engineering, Procurement, or related fields.
  • Exceptional communication and coordination skills with demonstrated team leadership capabilities.
  • Strong commitment to safety and dedication to delivering secure capital projects.
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%).
