Position Overview:

Our esteemed client in the biotechnology sector is in search of an innovative, resourceful, and collaborative Senior Vice President of Financial Strategy. This individual will spearhead, guide, and orchestrate the operations of the corporate finance division, ensuring the provision of insightful and timely information to the executive leadership team to facilitate informed corporate decision-making.

Location: Hybrid – three days a week in a designated office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a diverse array of corporate and business development initiatives to advance the company's strategic goals, acting as the financial lead for transaction assessments and implementations.
  • Capital Markets and Banking: Cultivate relationships with investment and commercial banking institutions to secure access to capital markets. Lead the evaluation of capital structure options to optimize shareholder value.
  • Investment Oversight: Manage the corporate investment portfolio along with related policies, and oversee the designated investment advisory firm.
  • Risk and Insurance Oversight: Direct global risk management functions, including the acquisition of corporate insurance and the upkeep of the business continuity strategy.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven financial leadership experience, preferably within a publicly traded biopharmaceutical or high-growth organization. A successful history of vision, strategic and financial management, and experience in building or transforming high-growth entities.
  • Self-motivated entrepreneur with strong interpersonal and analytical skills, high ethical standards, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with CFOs and executive leadership as a strategic ally. Exceptional problem-solving, creativity, and judgment capabilities, with a focus on making decisions based on precise and timely analyses.
  • Robust business acumen combined with unwavering integrity, reliability, and financial expertise. Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes with a strong sense of urgency and a results-oriented mindset for various stakeholders, including shareholders, strategic partners, and management.
  • Leadership in business and product development, possessing a keen commercial insight to guide the company's transition from a development-focused organization to a product-centric enterprise.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting (CPA), or Business is required.
  • An MBA in Finance is preferred.
  • Strong communication and influence capabilities, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse audiences.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in providing financial leadership within a progressive organization.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a strong aptitude for conflict resolution, strategic planning, financial analysis, and staff development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a commitment to mentoring and developing talent. A team-oriented leader who exemplifies collaboration across departments and levels to achieve shared objectives.
