Position Overview

The Human Resources Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting and coordinating various human resource functions. This position is responsible for implementing ServiceSource's policies, programs, and practices, with a particular emphasis on recruitment, onboarding of new employees, data management within the HRIS, and maintaining accurate personnel records. The HR Specialist will assist in various HR operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive all necessary documentation, including the completion of form I-9 and verification of I-9 documentation.
  • Ensures that all onboarding activities are finalized before the new employee's start date.
  • Conducts orientation sessions for newly hired staff.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, emailing documents, managing outgoing mail, and ordering office supplies.
  • Prepares and organizes personnel files for new employees and accurately archives records of former employees.

Additional Duties

  • Responds to requests for employment verification and references in a timely manner. Participates in HR compliance and data audits as necessary.
  • Processes requests related to benefit programs, including tuition assistance and leave donation initiatives.
  • Provides customer service by addressing employee inquiries and requests.
  • Assists with conducting background checks for new employees by submitting requests to background check vendors.
  • Collaborates with the Training department to communicate, track, and schedule mandatory training for employees.
  • Ensures proper documentation is filed in the appropriate employee records.
  • Participates in HR compliance audits as needed and assists with the exit process for terminated employees.
  • Supports recruitment efforts by tracking candidate status and providing follow-up as required.
  • Undertakes other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures, along with basic employment law knowledge.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Willingness to learn and become proficient in the HRIS.
