Human Resources Division Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Manager to lead our efforts in promoting a positive and productive workplace culture. In this role, you will be responsible for managing employee concerns, resolving workplace conflicts, and ensuring compliance with Cumberland County's policies and labor laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
- Review and certify documents related to disciplinary actions while working closely with the county's legal staff.
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations to manage and provide recommendations to resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Investigate and/or gather information for complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and coordinate with the Human Resources Director.
- Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, EEO, and ADA.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Conduct training in various human resources-related areas, including topics related to employment law.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of human resources, employee relations, or HR compliance experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in managing employee relations in a public sector organization.
- SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP certificate preferred.
