POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated catering sales professional who excels in identifying and nurturing relationships to secure and coordinate catering events at our hotel. This role involves proactive outreach to potential catering clients through various sales strategies, as well as managing incoming inquiries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in planning and executing events while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. Experience in social catering, particularly with weddings and similar events, is essential for creating unique and unforgettable experiences for our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively identify and qualify new catering opportunities for the hotel.
  • Negotiate pricing for food and beverage services, guest accommodations, and meeting room rentals within established guidelines.
  • Prepare and review all catering contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with precision.
  • Organize and conduct site visits, special events, and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Participate in industry networking events to generate new business and stay informed on market trends.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments for events, collaborating with the hotel's accounting team as necessary.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution and foster repeat business.
  • Attend relevant hotel meetings, including BEO and departmental meetings, to stay aligned with operational goals.
  • Provide attentive service to all guests, responding promptly to their needs at all times.
  • Report any incidents or issues to management immediately to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel services and local attractions to assist guests effectively.
  • Contribute to team success by completing assigned tasks and supporting ongoing projects.
  • Be available to work during peak times, including weekends and holidays.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance guest experiences and promote teamwork.
  • Understand and apply emergency procedures as needed.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
  • Engage with all levels of management and vendors to promote effective collaboration.
  • Develop and adhere to strategic action plans to achieve departmental goals.
  • Participate in team engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in catering sales, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
