ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated catering sales professional who excels in identifying and cultivating relationships to secure and manage catering events at our hotel. This role involves actively reaching out to potential catering clients through various sales strategies while also managing incoming inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to effectively coordinate and plan special events, ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction. Experience in social catering, particularly with weddings and similar events, is essential for creating memorable experiences for our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively seek and qualify new catering opportunities for the hotel.
  • Negotiate pricing for food and beverage services, guest accommodations, and meeting space in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Prepare and review all catering contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with precision.
  • Conduct site inspections and presentations for prospective clients, showcasing our facilities.
  • Participate in industry networking events to foster new business relationships and stay informed on market trends.
  • Ensure the collection of payments for events, coordinating with clients and the hotel's finance team.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and operational departments to guarantee successful events and encourage repeat business.
  • Attend relevant hotel meetings, including BEO and departmental meetings, to stay aligned with team objectives.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and ensure their needs are met with professionalism.
  • Report any incidents or issues to management immediately to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain familiarity with hotel services and local attractions to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Contribute to team success by assisting with various projects and tasks as needed.
  • Be available to work during peak times, including weekends and holidays.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment to enhance guest experiences.
  • Understand and apply the company's emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a positive attitude and encouraging teamwork.
  • Work with colleagues to analyze and improve operational processes.
  • Engage positively with all levels of management and external partners.
  • Develop and adhere to annual action plans and contribute to team engagement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in catering sales, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
