Geospatial Analyst

Position Overview
Kuo & Associates (KUO) is in search of a dedicated and detail-focused Geospatial Analyst who will be instrumental in facilitating the land surveying and property research functions of the organization. Your key responsibilities will encompass the interpretation of deeds, plats, and various real property abstracting documents to extract pertinent information, sourcing essential documents from multiple outlets, and crafting boundary sketches utilizing AutoCAD software. Furthermore, you will work closely with a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to execute boundary research and analysis, as well as assist in the development of boundary maps and metes and bounds descriptions for diverse sites and thoroughfares. This position demands a meticulous eye for detail, adeptness in AutoCAD, and a robust comprehension of land surveying principles. By applying your skills and knowledge, you will aid in the precise and efficient execution of surveying projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry norms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehending deeds, plats, and other real property abstracting documents
  • Retrieving deeds/plats from various sources such as County Clerk's offices, City of Houston, TxDOT, and independent abstractors
  • Creating boundary sketches from deeds, plats, etc. using AutoCAD
  • Assisting RPLS with boundary research and analysis
  • Preparing boundary maps and metes and bounds descriptions for sites and streets under the supervision of a Registered Surveyor
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or a four-year college degree
  • Basic knowledge and experience in AutoCAD
  • SIT Certification preferred, but not mandatory
