Senior Service Desk Technician with Azure Expertise

ROLE SUMMARY
Vaco Technology is actively seeking a Senior Service Desk Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role involves maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure, which encompasses network systems, server management, security protocols, storage administration, and ensuring business continuity during power outages. The technician will deliver remote global support by continuously monitoring all active network connections, both internal and external. Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing Project and Vendor Relationships – Collaborate with local subcontractors and consultants.
  • Providing Daily IT Helpdesk Support – Address and resolve issues while adhering to IT Helpdesk Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Configuring and Deploying IT Equipment – Manage the distribution of computers and peripherals across the organization.
  • Maintaining Global Infrastructure – Focus on availability, reliability, and performance to ensure enterprise-wide stability.
  • Coaching and Mentoring Team Members – Support local consultants in their professional development and performance improvement.
  • Ensuring IT Security Compliance – Uphold best practices and standards.
  • Guiding Technology Adoption – Advise on methods and techniques for optimal results within the global IT team.
  • Enhancing Process Efficiencies – Leverage technology to support organizational goals.
  • Providing Expert Input on Technology – Contribute knowledge to improve reliability, simplicity, and overall effectiveness of LAN/WAN systems.
  • Managing Telephonic Infrastructure – Ensure effective communication systems across various regions.
  • Tracking IT Assets – Maintain visibility into the lifecycle of equipment.
  • Identifying Network Performance Issues – Monitor availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
  • Accomplishing Organizational Objectives – Explore new opportunities to add value.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years as a Senior Service Desk Technician – Experience in supporting network systems, servers, security, storage administration, and business continuity.
  • 5+ years in Network Support – Proficient in routing, switching, and LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Firewall Expertise – Experience with Cisco Meraki and ASA preferred.
  • Office/M365 Proficiency – Knowledge of Azure, MS Endpoint Management, Active Directory, and MS Defender.
  • Cloud Platform Familiarity – Experience with Hybrid Domains, InTune, MS Endpoint, and Exchange Online.
  • Azure Cloud Proficiency – Knowledge of servers, RBAC roles, resource groups, network security, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
PREFERRED SKILLS (not mandatory)
  • Citrix Cloud Platform experience – Familiarity with publishing desktops and remote applications.
  • CAD Software Knowledge – Experience with Autodesk and AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Familiarity with Epicor 10 and MS Dynamics (D365).
  • Experience in Engineering Design or Commercial Industrial Manufacturing.
