The Human Trafficking Support Specialist collaborates with community organizations to assist individuals at risk of human trafficking in securing stable employment. This role involves creating a customized approach to guide participants through workforce center processes, enhancing their chances of finding and sustaining employment. The specialist will also identify employers willing to hire and support program participants as per grant requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Engagement:
  • Lead the recruitment of businesses and establish agreements for Work Experience and Subsidized Employment, while exploring job development opportunities for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with wage standards that meet self-sufficiency criteria.
  • Utilize the TWC Mainframe to manage worksite agreements effectively.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of potential worksites before initiating partnerships.
  • Identify job opportunities for participants facing barriers such as minimal skills or criminal backgrounds, and arrange interviews.
  • Provide ongoing support by visiting worksites weekly to assist both job seekers and employers.
  • Facilitate transitions for participants from work experience roles to unsubsidized employment.
Case Management:
  • Accurately assess eligibility in line with local, state, and federal guidelines to optimize program funding utilization.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of eligibility and participant progress, securing necessary approvals for involvement.
  • Conduct interviews to gather insights on job seekers' education, experience, skills, and employment aspirations.
  • Provide up-to-date labor market information and assist job seekers in navigating high-demand occupations.
  • Develop realistic career pathways based on assessments.
  • Offer job search assistance and referrals during each meeting.
  • Collaborate with job seekers to access additional supportive services available within the program.
  • Encourage educational and training opportunities to enhance participants' skill sets.
  • Build a supportive partnership with job seekers to achieve case management goals.
  • Ensure job seekers have complete profiles in the workforce data management system.
  • Assist in crafting employer-ready resumes.
  • Utilize various digital platforms for service delivery.
  • Monitor job seekers' performance in relation to employment and training outcomes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry in compliance with program regulations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or six years of experience in workforce development or public relations, including two years in a supervisory role; or
  • Associate degree with six years of relevant experience, including two years in a supervisory role; or
  • High School Diploma with eight years of relevant experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
  • Preferred knowledge of workforce development programs, economic trends, and project management.
  • Experience in performance-based environments with strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate staff and engage stakeholders.
  • Proficient in effective management techniques, planning, and strategy implementation.
  • Ability to facilitate training sessions for diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in data management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

Position involves extensive sitting, standing, and desk work, with some lifting required. The role is primarily office-based with flexible hours.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 50% travel may be necessary.
