Position Overview

We are seeking a driven Senior Environmental Engineer to enhance our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation division. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in environmental project management, focusing on the design and execution of remediation projects, compliance with stormwater regulations, and overall engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in a variety of environmental assignments, including sampling and remediation of soil and groundwater, development of work plans, and associated reporting.
  • Conduct environmental assessments and remediation efforts, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Prepare and execute remedial investigation and response action plans.
  • Oversee field operations, including planning, developing work plans, and liaising with subcontractors and clients.
  • Lead the design and oversight of remediation systems, ensuring effective operation and maintenance.
  • Perform quality assurance and control on project deliverables, ensuring adherence to established quality procedures.
  • Draft and review technical documents, reports, and engineering designs to guarantee high-quality outputs.
  • Manage multiple project budgets, scopes, and schedules throughout all project phases.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Achieve billable utilization targets and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during construction oversight.
  • Analyze data and communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare summary reports and technical memoranda as needed.

Adhere to TRC's safety, quality, and project management protocols.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or Geology; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Geologist (P.G.) in California.
  • 5 to 15 years of experience in civil/environmental engineering consulting and construction.
  • Proven experience in writing and reviewing technical documents and reports.
  • Hands-on experience in remediation work at industrial sites.
  • California Construction Stormwater Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) or Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) preferred.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher preferred.
  • OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPER Supervisor certification preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve technical problems effectively.
  • Strong independent work ethic and teamwork capabilities, with excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience in preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
  • Familiarity with landfill design and construction quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of hydrogeologic modeling techniques.
  • Proficient in technical writing and data management.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices in engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for project assignments as necessary.
