Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Engineer to enhance our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation division. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in environmental project management, including the design and execution of remediation projects, compliance with stormwater regulations, and general engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in a variety of environmental assignments, such as soil and groundwater sampling, remediation efforts, and compliance reporting.
- Conduct comprehensive environmental site assessments, including Phase I and II ESAs, and evaluate contaminated sites.
- Develop and implement detailed work plans for remedial investigations and response actions.
- Oversee field operations, ensuring effective planning, coordination with subcontractors, and adherence to project timelines.
- Lead the design and construction oversight of remediation systems, ensuring operational efficiency and maintenance.
- Ensure quality control of project deliverables and adherence to company standards.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reports and engineering designs.
- Manage project budgets, scopes, and schedules throughout all phases of execution.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain a focus on billable utilization and project profitability.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Conduct construction quality assurance and oversight.
- Analyze data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare summary reports and technical memoranda.
Implement TRC's safety, quality, and project management protocols.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or Geology; Master's degree preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Geologist (P.G.) in California.
- 5 to 15 years of relevant experience in civil/environmental engineering consulting and construction.
- Proven experience in technical writing and document review.
- Field experience in remediation at industrial sites.
- California Construction Stormwater Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) or Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) preferred.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher preferred.
- OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPER Supervisor certification preferred.

- Experience in preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
- Familiarity with landfill design and construction quality assurance.
- Experience with hydrogeologic modeling.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
