The Senior Environmental Safety Consultant independently formulates, executes, and supervises initiatives and programs to ensure adherence to relevant federal, state, and local Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) regulations, alongside organizational EH&S and Workplace Safety (WPS) protocols and standards.
Identifying and evaluating hazards and risks is essential, achieved by developing and implementing best practices for recognizing, analyzing, documenting, and communicating both standard and nonstandard workplace environmental health and safety risk patterns.
The consultant prepares comprehensive analyses and reports concerning the status of environmental health and safety.Ensuring risk management involves interpreting general guidelines to promote workplace safety and compliance while assessing the effectiveness of measures aimed at improving workplace safety outcomes.

- Independently adheres to compliance standards by: developing, executing, and supervising strategies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) regulations, as well as organizational EH&S and Workplace Safety (WPS) protocols and standards; serving as a liaison for all EH&S regulatory, accreditation, and grant agency inspections and surveys; identifying downstream impacts for compliance; upholding organizational policies and procedures; planning, scheduling, and contributing to best practices for the timely completion and submission of regulatory reports; and identifying opportunities for process enhancements to facilitate efficient and effective compliance.
- Promotes training and continuous learning about Environmental Health and Safety by: actively pursuing training and development opportunities and integrating learning and feedback into daily tasks and strategies; independently delivering safety education and training programs for management and staff; and conducting competency assessments to ensure training effectiveness.

Engagement in Safety Practices:
Ensures employee safety and protection by independently educating employees, leaders, and other key stakeholders on safety protocols; reporting, investigating, and analyzing safety incidents as necessary; conducting safety-related activities for all employees; and implementing changes to the employee safety program.
- Plans and schedules work related to Health and Safety programs independently by: implementing environmental health and safety programs; conducting assessments and analyses to evaluate health and safety programs under minimal supervision; and making significant recommendations to enhance existing programs based on evaluations and observations.
- Identifies and implements ways to address improvement opportunities for the team.

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Natural Science, Engineering, Emergency Management, or a related field AND a minimum of three (3) years of experience in environmental health and safety, risk management, or a directly related field OR a minimum of six (6) years of experience in environmental health and safety, risk management, or a directly related field.
- Certification in Healthcare Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Health Safety Professional, Safety Professional, or Associate Safety Professional within 24 months of hire.
