Position Overview:

Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Lead Environmental Consultant to support the advancement and management of our environmental services in the Bay Area and surrounding regions.

The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, demonstrating a strong technical background in executing site evaluations and remediation projects from inception to completion.

We are looking for a professional who will contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of our services by:

  • Creating design documentation and construction specifications.
  • Conducting senior-level technical reviews and approvals for reports and associated deliverables (if at the Lead Consultant level).
  • Managing projects effectively, overseeing budget adherence, and preparing financial updates for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Coordinating field personnel, planning, and executing project tasks.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, training, and development of technical team members.
  • Overseeing subcontracting, construction oversight, and management.
  • Identifying and developing new environmental project opportunities.
  • Fostering and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Reviewing and preparing competitive proposals in response to requests.
  • Participating in presentations and interviews for significant environmental projects.
  • Negotiating site clean-up objectives and closures with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with appropriate professional registration/certification (e.g., California Professional Civil Engineer required). An advanced degree is preferred.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates should have experience in designing various multi-media remediation systems, including but not limited to vapor and methane mitigation systems, in-situ bioremediation, soil vapor extraction, dual-phase extraction, groundwater extraction, and free product recovery systems. Proficiency in preparing plans and specifications, equipment selection, bidding processes, health and safety protocols, system initiation, operation, optimization, troubleshooting, maintenance, and compliance monitoring is essential.

Local knowledge and regulatory experience are crucial. The candidate must exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, along with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving capabilities.
