Position Overview

We are currently seeking a driven Senior Environmental Engineer to enhance our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation division. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in environmental project management, remediation design, and compliance across various environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in a wide range of environmental assignments, including sampling and remediation of soil and groundwater, as well as the development of comprehensive work plans.
  • Conduct environmental assessments and remediation efforts, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Draft and execute remedial investigation and response action plans.
  • Oversee field operations, ensuring effective planning and coordination with subcontractors and clients.
  • Lead the design and implementation of remediation systems, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control for project deliverables, adhering to established quality standards.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage project budgets, scopes, and timelines, ensuring successful project execution.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Achieve targeted billable utilization rates.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Provide oversight for construction quality assurance.
  • Analyze data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and technical memoranda.

Implement TRC's safety, quality, and project management protocols in all aspects of work.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or Geology; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a California Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Geologist (P.G.) license.
  • 5 to 15 years of relevant experience in civil/environmental engineering consulting and construction.
  • Proven experience in technical writing and document review.
  • Field experience in remediation at industrial sites.
  • California Construction Stormwater Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) or Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) certification is preferred.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including annual refresher, is preferred.
  • OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPER Supervisor certification is preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve technical challenges within budget constraints.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
  • Familiarity with landfill design and construction quality assurance.
  • Experience with hydrogeologic modeling.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD and GIS software is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
