Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated, personable, and quick-learning individual to enhance the experience of our members consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for effective claims follow-up, patient inquiries, and resolution of denials.
  • Provide updates regarding any benefit investigations related to members' financial responsibilities, including co-pays and co-insurance.
  • Act as a patient advocate, facilitating communication between patients, insurance providers, and medical offices.
  • Embrace the challenge of persistently working with insurance claims while advocating for patient needs.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of claims requirements and perform necessary billing activities, including evaluation and correction of billing edits, claim transmission, and handling rejections.
  • Manage insurance and patient correspondence, maintaining accurate records of communications within the EMR system.
  • Utilize resourcefulness and emotional intelligence to identify challenges and collaborate with others to explore potential solutions.
  • Ensure access to a remote workspace equipped with high-speed internet and privacy.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling, patient financial services, or insurance follow-up within a healthcare or health insurance setting, focusing on the revenue cycle process.
  • At least 2 years of experience in patient communication, researching, and documenting insurance information.
  • Experience in billing and coding is required; a medical billing certificate is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with a strong emphasis on assisting patients in a healthcare context.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.
Compensation
The position offers a competitive pay range of $25/hr to $30/hr, commensurate with experience.
