In this position, you will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing customer business and their decision-making processes.
  • Link technology solutions, including the Pure Storage portfolio and other ecosystem offerings, to tangible customer business results.
  • Collaborate closely with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to create a cohesive and comprehensive customer experience aimed at driving revenue growth and acquiring new business.
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of Pure Storage solutions.
  • Refine sales strategies and approaches, taking charge of technical responsibilities.
  • Impress customers and colleagues with your technical expertise and leadership in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage solutions across DAS, NAS, and SAN.
  • Oversee evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
  • Develop and deliver engaging technical product and architecture presentations to clients, securing technical wins.
  • Identify requirements and translate customer needs into innovative solutions that foster growth and capacity.
  • Prepare responses to RFI & RFPs.
  • Identify and stimulate new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing/validation.
  • Facilitate mutual roadmap and planning discussions.
  • Collaborate with product and technical marketing to create materials (e.g., whitepapers, web presentations) that support overall alliance strategies and objectives.
  • Stay informed about competitors and ensure that materials accurately represent the latest, differentiated solution positioning.
  • Adapt to market trends and the competitive landscape to promote thought leadership within our organization.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE:

  • A blend of creativity, empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Required pre-sales experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience across technology, design, and communications. Experience in selling enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise clients is preferred.
  • A profound understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.
  • Experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
  • Significant contributions to or leadership in responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Extensive knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).
  • Familiarity with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus.
  • Experience in installation/configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, and cache architectures.
  • Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture (LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture) is a plus.
  • A passion for technology and a desire to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
  • Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle), is highly desirable.

The annual base salary range is: $130,200 – $196,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level, and location.

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
