Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring maximum reimbursement and reducing denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities for specific physician practices, including insurance verification/obtaining precertification, scheduling, pre-registration, and order transmission (faxing).
  • Maintain statistics and act as liaison between clinical testing sites and physicians' offices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks to meet regulatory requirements and Sentara's high standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Two of the four required skill levels: 1. Two years of experience in a healthcare environment, 2. Completion of a healthcare-related certificate program, 3. Associate's Degree or higher, or 4. Transferable skills (i.e., one year or more in a call center, customer service, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and technology/computer skills
