Position Summary:

The Tire Quality Assurance Inspector is primarily responsible for ensuring that all vendor guidelines and protocols are adhered to consistently. This role is crucial in guaranteeing that the credits received align with the credits issued to our customers. Additionally, the inspector will assist the Warranty Manager with the adjustment processes related to mergers and acquisitions and will possess a working knowledge of Hunter mounting and balancing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all vendor guidelines and protocols.
  • Verify that credits received correspond accurately with credits issued to customers.
  • Conduct routine inspections of tires and/or tubes, assessing the need for further action.

  • Manager of Adjustments
  • District Business Directors/General Managers
  • Directors of Operations
  • Senior Vice President of Operations

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in tire and wheel inspection preferred, with prior experience sufficient to operate under general supervision.
  • Alternative qualifications may be considered at the discretion of the company.

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of profit and loss calculations and basic business finance to ensure accurate credit offsets.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as HPV, On Base, Tel-Net, Oracle, and others related to logistics and inventory management.
  • Ability to read and interpret vendor technical bulletins and internal company reports, as well as NHTSA regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of tire and wheel inspection standards and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring credits and problem-solving.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current materials, methods, tools, and equipment, including Hunter mounting and balancing machines.
  • Strategic and innovative thinking to identify and act on ideas that support the company's goals.
  • Effective planning and execution skills to address root causes of issues and collaborate with various departments for effective solutions.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Work environment exposure to weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
