A successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate the ability to engage with HSB clients and customers in a professional manner, upholding the highest levels of integrity.
As an inspector, your duties will include reviewing and witnessing activities in accordance with recognized international codes, standards, and regulations, such as ASME Code, Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), and Canadian Standards, among others. You will also conduct inspections based on client specifications and provide engineering services to various companies within the designated area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Experience with boilers and pressure vessels or nuclear reactors
Annual training is provided for all inspectors, developed and supported by our technical industry experts.

HSB - Global Inspection and Engineering Services is a division of HSBIIC, comprising over 450 engineers, inspectors, and auditors across more than 27 countries. As the world's largest ASME Authorized Inspection Agency, our inspectors play a crucial role in delivering on-site services that ensure the quality and compliance of pressure equipment during manufacturing, erection, and repair.
The work of our Global Inspection and Engineering Services team is pivotal at the beginning of the equipment life cycle insured by HSB, contributing significantly to our comprehensive understanding of the insured equipment.
Key Services Include:
- Review and acceptance of Job Packages
- In-process Inspections
- Monitoring of Quality Control Systems
- Witnessing final Hydrostatic Tests
- Review and signing of required documentation

- Technical College Graduate
- Engineering degree
- Experience with boilers and pressure vessels
- Risk Survey experience
- Certification from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors
- State Certificate of Competency with "A" Endorsement
Physical Requirements:
The individual in this role must be able to navigate various site facilities, including ascending and descending, while performing visual inspections of ASME/NB boilers and pressure vessels, as well as reviewing NDE reports and calculations. This position may involve working in diverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and may require lifting weights equivalent to the individual's body weight along with necessary safety equipment. The candidate must also be able to maintain a stationary position for approximately 50% of the time.
Additional Requirements:
Some clients may require personnel to possess a security clearance to access their facilities. Therefore, candidates must be eligible to obtain such clearance. Due to the nature of the role, which may involve travel to multiple customer locations, the successful candidate may be assigned a company vehicle or have the option to use their personal vehicle for business purposes, necessitating an acceptable driving record.
