Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Marketing and Business Development professional to join our leadership team at Universal Health Services. As Assistant Director of Business Development, you will play a crucial role in implementing our comprehensive community relations program and marketing plan, while providing guidance and support to key internal stakeholders and the CEO on marketing and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Relations and Marketing: Assist the Director in developing and implementing a comprehensive community relations program and marketing plan to promote Universal Health Services and its commitment to the community.
  • Business Development: Coordinate and facilitate the referral development and sales process, obtain new business, and retain current business.
  • Special Events: Manage special events on and off campus to promote Universal Health Services and its commitment to the community.
  • Internal Communications: Write and edit internal communications to ensure effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Community Outreach: Manage community outreach activities and exhibits to promote Universal Health Services and its commitment to the community.
  • Sales and Marketing: Promote and motivate sales and marketing staff in referral and admission development.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Create and coordinate all marketing campaigns and new program/service marketing.
  • Referral Tracking: Track acute care hospital referrals and trends for growth opportunities.
  • Media and Public Relations: Create synergy related to the hospital's media, public relations, and community outreach efforts.
  • Admissions Goals: Collaborate in the establishment of admissions goals for the hospital, monitor on a daily basis, and intervene when necessary to overcome shortfalls.
  • Troubleshooting: Serve as a trouble-shooter and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Performance Standards: Develop measurable performance standards for the hospital business development marketing team.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Nursing, or related field required; Master's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a marketing/business development position, of which at least 4 years should be in a healthcare setting.
  • Supervisory Experience: Three years in a supervisory position.
  • Marketing Experience: Previous marketing experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.

  • Analytical Ability: High level of analytical ability to establish goals and objectives to support success.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to objectively handle conflict management.
  • Metrics: Ability to identify, define, and apply metrics for a measurement of success.
  • Action Oriented: Action-oriented individual with ability to identify opportunity, adapt to change, work independently, and prioritize tasks/responsibilities.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills.
  • Social Media: Proficient in leveraging social media and other forms of emerging new media as vehicles to augment referral base and patient population through innovative digital engagement.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills with ability to adjust accordingly for a variety of audiences.
