Position: Front Desk Receptionist
Location: Staten Island, NY

Join New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a leading Oncology/Hematology practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to be part of our dynamic team within a well-established and expanding sub-specialty practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily opening and closing operations of the office.
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Provide comfort to patients while maintaining an organized reception area.
  • Handle incoming calls, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and scheduling appointments.
  • Collect co-pays and accurately balance the office finances each day.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation.
  • Maintain patient records using the practice's EMR system.
  • Organize and oversee physician schedules according to established guidelines.
  • Distribute quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings as part of daily operations.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor and respond to messages from Care Team inboxes.
  • Ensure all patients requiring appointments are scheduled appropriately by reviewing daily visit lists.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Contribute to team efforts by adapting to various roles as needed.
  • Uphold daily office operations by following standard policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned for special projects.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficient typing and computer skills are advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.
Compensation: Salary up to $22 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package including Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance from day one, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, generous Paid Time Off, and 8 paid holidays (2 floating) among other perks.
