Patient Services Receptionist

Join New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a leading Oncology/Hematology practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to be part of our dynamic team within a well-established and expanding sub-specialty practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily opening and closing operations of the office.
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Provide comfort to patients while maintaining an organized reception area.
- Handle incoming calls, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and scheduling appointments.
- Collect co-pays and accurately balance the office finances each day.
- Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation.
- Maintain patient records using the practice's EMR system.
- Organize and oversee physician schedules according to established guidelines.
- Distribute quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings as part of daily operations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor and respond to messages from Care Team inboxes.
- Ensure all patients requiring appointments are scheduled appropriately by reviewing daily visit lists.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by adapting to various roles as needed.
- Uphold daily office operations by following standard policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned for special projects.
- High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient typing and computer skills are advantageous.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.
