Position Summary

AECOM is looking for a seasoned Traffic Management Engineer to spearhead the development of roadway Transportation Management Plans (TMP), which encompass Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) and Traffic Control Device (TCD) strategies. This role offers a hybrid work environment.

  • Specializes in Traffic Management for state and municipal projects.
  • Creates comprehensive Traffic Management plans and documentation in alignment with established standards.
  • Collaborates with clients to facilitate plan evaluations and addresses feedback.
  • Contributes to broader engineering assignments under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collects and analyzes fundamental engineering data using standardized methods.
  • Handles detailed engineering tasks that involve calculations and assessments.
  • Proposes solutions to emerging challenges by adapting established methods.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies in project outcomes.
  • Mentors junior engineers.
  • Ensures project completion aligns with budgetary and scheduling commitments with minimal oversight.
  • Independently executes essential design elements for Traffic Management projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience in traffic control engineering design or equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a North Carolina PE License or the ability to obtain one within six months.
  • Over 8 years of experience in Traffic Management with state transportation departments.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with state work zone traffic control regulations and safety standards.
  • Expertise in designing work zone plans that consider various project and community factors.
Additional Information
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Relocation assistance is provided for this role.

Compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications, experience, and location, typically ranging from $82,000 to $145,000.
