Kleinschmidt Group is seeking a full-time Senior Engineer/Project Manager to oversee engineering design and manage projects related to dams, hydroelectric systems, fish passage solutions, and water resource management. This role emphasizes building client relationships and mentoring junior engineers.

Location: Flexible hybrid work environment.

Compensation: Salary range of $100,000-$175,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:
  • A Licensed Professional Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in civil, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical engineering focused on hydroelectric, fish passage, dam safety, or water resource projects.
  • A minimum of 3 years in project management and client coordination.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and codes.
  • Experience in analysis and design, collaborating with various engineering disciplines including hydrology, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and excellent communication skills for managing projects and client interactions.
  • Understanding of regulatory and permitting processes is advantageous.
  • Consulting experience is preferred.

Project Management:
  • Proven ability to lead project teams comprising junior and senior staff, drafters, and coordinators.
  • Capability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience in overseeing multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Demonstrated maturity in decision-making with a client-centric approach.
  • Familiarity with Vantagepoint software is a plus.

Relationship Management:
  • Passion for mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis through construction.
  • Skill in establishing long-term client relationships to address complex engineering challenges.

Additional Requirements:
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver's license.

Position Overview: This role offers the chance to contribute to the design and management of hydroelectric, water resource, and fisheries projects, integrating the expertise of various engineering disciplines along with regulatory and scientific services. As a Senior Project Manager, you will ensure the successful delivery of large-scale multidisciplinary projects, enhance client experiences, and set expectations for both internal and external teams. Your focus will be on regional projects while also supporting larger initiatives as needed.

Physical Demands: The physical requirements of this position include regular sitting or standing, using hands for handling objects, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Site visits may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and physical activities such as climbing ladders.
