Key Responsibilities- Apply engineering design principles to develop construction plans, specifications, and estimates for municipal transportation infrastructure projects.
- Develop preliminary and final plans and designs using computer-aided design (CAD and Civil3D) and other engineering tools and software.
- Responsible for all design features, including roadway alignments and profiles, traffic control, utilities, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, grading, erosion control, pavement markings, cross sections, and other features needed to design a complete project.
- Work performed is technical and detailed, requiring application of professional engineering principles.
- Plan and prioritize the necessary tasks to complete all construction documents.
- Prepare cost estimates.
- Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules using Munis, Primavera, and Excel.
- Manage projects from planning through construction.
- Seal plans as a PE in accordance with State laws (as applicable).
- Prepare record drawings in accordance with State requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) years of relevant work experience in civil engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in civil engineering, including experience in geometric roadway design and storm drainage design.
