Empowering Families and Children through Dedicated Support

Are you committed to enhancing the lives of families and children in the realm of early childhood education and social services? Community-Minded Enterprises is seeking a proactive individual to fulfill a dual role as a Family Support Services Coordinator and Assistant Center Manager within our ECEAP program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Oversight: Devote 20 hours per week to managing CME ECEAP classrooms effectively.
  • Family Engagement: Allocate 20 hours per week to providing essential family support services, actively recruiting families, and involving them in program activities.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with the ECEAP Program Manager to assist with scheduling, staff supervision, program execution, and adherence to DCYF regulations.
  • Learning Environment Maintenance: Ensure a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate classroom setting.
  • Family Support Specialist Duties: Recruit and enroll ECEAP participants at designated locations.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of up to 16 families, guiding them towards self-sufficiency.
  • Home Visits & Conferences: Conduct home visits and family support conferences on a scheduled basis.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date child and family records using the ELMS system.
  • Family Engagement Activities: Organize and facilitate monthly family events, encouraging participation in program activities.
  • Community Resource Linkage: Connect families with local resources and services.
  • Health Screening Coordination: Conduct health screenings and follow up on health and safety requirements.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Ensure the application of Teaching Strategies GOLD, Early Achievers standards, and Creative Curriculum in the classroom.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee ECEAP classroom staff, volunteers, and teams.
  • Food Safety Management: Ensure safe and appropriate food handling and service practices.
  • Professional Development: Participate in workshops and training sessions, providing leadership in the absence of the Program Manager.
  • Professional Conduct: Exemplify best practices consistently.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development through education, experience, or references.
  • Written proof of relevant education (ECE State Certificate or equivalent, associate or higher degree with relevant credits, or DCYF-approved credential).
  • Listed in the state training and registry system (STARS).
  • Experience in program management and staff supervision is required.
  • Training in child abuse prevention and reporting is essential.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Current pediatric CPR/first aid certification and bloodborne pathogen training.
  • Current Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Negative Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) skin test within the last 12 months.
  • MERIT Portable Background Check and ability to pass annual background checks.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Active listening and clarification skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to inquiries.
  • Demonstrated group presentation capabilities.
  • Participation in meetings is expected.
