Intellectual Property Billing Coordinator

SNI Companies is collaborating with a distinguished Law Firm seeking a dedicated and skilled Intellectual Property Billing Coordinator.

This position is essential for overseeing, organizing, and executing the billing processes related to intellectual property attorneys. The successful candidate will liaise with attorneys, support staff, and finance team members to ensure accurate record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute billing for primary billing partners, including drafting, editing, and preparing pre-bills and final invoices according to attorney/client specifications and guidelines.
  • Verify the accuracy of billing and supporting documents as necessary.
  • Ensure that rates and fee arrangements are correctly applied to each matter.
  • Generate and distribute final client invoices.
  • Oversee requirements for clients utilizing electronic billing, ensuring timely completion and coordination with the Electronic Billing Specialist as needed.
  • Process write-downs in accordance with firm policies.
  • Handle write-offs following established firm guidelines.
  • Investigate and address inquiries related to billing discrepancies and issues.
  • Monitor Work In Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) for assigned attorneys.
  • Produce billing statements and reports as requested.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in legal billing is required, with a preference for experience in Intellectual Property billing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, excellent time management skills, and clear communication are essential.
