Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough trademark searches and provide legal assessments regarding trademark availability and eligibility for registration.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other global trademark authorities.
  • Oversee and maintain clients' trademark portfolios, ensuring compliance with deadlines and renewal requirements.
  • Advise clients on issues related to trademark infringement and formulate strategies for trademark protection.
  • Draft cease and desist communications and facilitate negotiations in trademark-related disputes.
  • Represent clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as litigation before relevant administrative bodies and courts.
  • Offer legal counsel on the selection, usage, and safeguarding of trademarks, including branding strategies.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active membership in the state bar and in good standing; admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
  • A minimum of [6-8] years of experience in trademark law, encompassing prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Client-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international trademark law and global trademark portfolio management.
  • Background in intellectual property law beyond trademarks, including copyrights and patents.

Compensation

  • $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually
