Position Overview:
We are in search of a committed Patent or Intellectual Property Associate who will be instrumental in our Intellectual Property practice, aiding clients with patent prosecution, litigation, and various IP-related issues. This role presents an opportunity to collaborate with a diverse clientele, navigating intricate legal challenges in the realm of intellectual property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patentability assessments and evaluate prior art.
- Draft patent applications and responses to official communications.
- Assist in patent prosecution processes.
- Perform legal research and provide insights on intellectual property matters.
- Support intellectual property litigation, including drafting legal documents and discovery requests.
- Advise clients on intellectual property strategies and portfolio management.
- Negotiate and draft licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other related contracts.
- Stay informed on advancements in patent law and intellectual property trends.
- Collaborate effectively with partners, associates, and support staff to deliver comprehensive client service.
Qualifications:
- Experience at an AM200 Firm is preferred.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution and/or intellectual property litigation.
- A technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is advantageous.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on detail.
- Commitment to providing high-quality legal services and fostering strong client relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
