Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough trademark searches and offer legal insights regarding trademark availability and eligibility for registration.
- Prepare, submit, and manage trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other global trademark authorities.
- Oversee and maintain clients' trademark portfolios, ensuring timely monitoring of deadlines and renewals.
- Advise clients on matters of trademark infringement and devise strategies for the protection of their trademarks.
- Draft cease and desist communications and engage in negotiations for settlements in trademark-related disputes.
- Represent clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as litigation before relevant administrative bodies and courts.
- Provide legal counsel on the selection, usage, and safeguarding of trademarks, including branding strategies.
- Collaborate with international associates to secure trademark protection across various jurisdictions.
- Stay informed on the latest changes and trends in trademark law, conducting legal research on intricate trademark issues.
- Foster and maintain robust client relationships by delivering exceptional legal services and educating clients on trademark laws and updates.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
- Active admission to the state bar and in good standing; admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
- A minimum of [6-8] years of experience in trademark law, encompassing prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Client-oriented with excellent interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in international trademark law and management of global trademark portfolios.
- Background in intellectual property law beyond trademarks, including copyrights and patents.
Compensation
- $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually
