Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough trademark searches and offer legal insights regarding trademark availability and eligibility for registration.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other global trademark authorities.
  • Oversee and maintain clients' trademark portfolios, ensuring timely monitoring of deadlines and renewals.
  • Advise clients on matters of trademark infringement and devise strategies for the protection of their trademarks.
  • Draft cease and desist communications and engage in negotiations for settlements in trademark-related disputes.
  • Represent clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as litigation before relevant administrative bodies and courts.
  • Provide legal counsel on the selection, usage, and safeguarding of trademarks, including branding strategies.
  • Collaborate with international associates to secure trademark protection across various jurisdictions.
  • Stay informed on the latest changes and trends in trademark law, conducting legal research on intricate trademark issues.
  • Foster and maintain robust client relationships by delivering exceptional legal services and educating clients on trademark laws and updates.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active admission to the state bar and in good standing; admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
  • A minimum of [6-8] years of experience in trademark law, encompassing prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Client-oriented with excellent interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international trademark law and management of global trademark portfolios.
  • Background in intellectual property law beyond trademarks, including copyrights and patents.

Compensation

  • $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually
