P-Card Administrator Job Description

The City of New York is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented P-Card Administrator to join our team. As a P-Card Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the agency's p-card program, ensuring compliance with agency and City p-card policies, and providing technical assistance to cardholders and their approvers and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the agency's p-card program, including creating and maintaining comprehensive p-card files and coordinating new card requests, relinquishments, and special requests.
  • Ensure cardholders adhere to agency and City p-card policies, actively reviewing and recommending updates as necessary.
  • Liaise with the DCAS Citywide P-Card Administrator and their staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Monitor P-Card transactions daily to ensure users' compliance with agency and City P-Card policies.
  • Provide technical assistance to cardholders and their approvers and supervisors to facilitate appropriate oversight approvals and clearances.
  • Identify challenges and solutions on P-Card, corresponding with program and ACCO Senior Staff for rapid resolution.
  • Participate in meetings concerning P-Card, providing accurate status of the agency's P-Card program.
  • Promote increased utilization of City-Certified MWBE Vendors and assist in the achievement of other initiatives related to the agency's P-Card program.
Requirements:
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting, auditing, and cost accounting.
  • Four years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing accounting or auditing work.
  • A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license and at least 18 months of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing accounting or auditing work.
