The Senior Simulation Engineer will work collaboratively with various Engineering teams to design, model, simulate, and implement innovative algorithms for our batteries, power electronics, and motors. You will be tasked with extending and maintaining simulation tools that enable Milwaukee Tool to make swift and effective decisions.

As a member of the Front-End Innovation team, the research and development division of Milwaukee, you will help shape significant strategic directions through innovative engineering and critical analysis. Our focus is on the end user, developing both strategic and specific solutions to their challenges that disrupt our competitors. You will be expected to work autonomously and present innovative concepts for exploration. Embrace the philosophy of failing fast and learning often.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, model, and simulate power tools and their various subsystems.
  • Utilize modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
  • Employ laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and electronic loads to collect empirical data for regression fitting and model validation.
  • Conduct experiments, perform simulations, and derive clear, logical conclusions through data analysis.
  • Collaborate with the engineering organization to identify innovative opportunities to enhance power tool capabilities.
  • Organize, develop agendas for, facilitate, and document technical meetings and formal presentations.
  • Gain knowledge and maintain an understanding of Milwaukee Tool's development and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience OR a Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in Matlab/Simulink model-based design, code generation, and automated testing.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, exercising independent judgment and thriving under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process-oriented with a robust work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
