JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Packaging Solutions Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to spearhead design and process enhancements for existing products and workflows, aiming for increased efficiency and cost savings. This role involves creating innovative corrugate designs to support all new CCT products. The Senior Packaging Solutions Engineer will oversee the completion of product modifications and new designs by developing specifications, documentation, and managing changes through the engineering change order (ECO) process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for packaging cost reductions and implement changes when feasible. This includes facilitating cross-functional reviews of proposed modifications, ensuring proper qualifications, and completing necessary documentation for cost reduction implementation.
- Develop new designs for corrugate components to support all new CCT products, including accurate part drawings. Ensure that corrugate documentation accommodates global sourcing using both English and Metric units.
- Establish and uphold CCT's corrugate documentation standards, drawings, and specifications.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for CCT's corrugate design.
- Define and maintain standards for CCT film documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers in the U.S. and globally to ensure that corrugate components are thoroughly documented and functional across all required regions.
- Create and manage existing shipping details for pallet configurations.
- Implement documentation changes to support ECO requests.
- Oversee CCT's CAD table management (Multicam or equivalent).
- Provide regular updates on project statuses and participate in executive reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering.
- 3-6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proven experience in corrugate design for packaging system components, including documentation and transition to manufacturing.
- Proficiency in ArtiosCAD software, including configuration file setup and management.
- Experience with TOPS (or equivalent) software.
- Direct interaction experience with customers and suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to analyze data using statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Capability to manage several projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in documenting design work in a clear and concise technical report format.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Expertise in using sample cutting tables.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a smaller, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification.
Familiarity with modern packaging manufacturing processes, including injection molding, bonding, thin films, and prototyping.
Experience with Life Cycle Analyses (LCA).
Other Requirements:
Occasional lifting and physical activity may be necessary.
Some travel may be required.
