Role of the Operations Communications Specialist:
The Operations Communications Specialist is tasked with implementing the internal communications strategy established by the Operations Integration team. This role involves collaborating across departments to ensure that operational messaging is coherent and consistent throughout all internal communication platforms, serving as a vital member of our operations services team. The communications will play a crucial role in driving operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop messages and materials tailored for internal stakeholders, collaborating closely with various Support Center Teams: FSQA, Tech, Supply Chain, Marketing, Customer Experience, Development, and People + Culture.
- Assist the Ops Integration Team in executing communications and rollouts to Operations, both scheduled and unscheduled.
- Coordinate with other Support Center Teams to convey essential messages and assess success through key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of current and future communications.
- Collaborate with Learning and Development to facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for seasonal recipe launches and other initiatives.
- Continuously enhance restaurant resources (such as posters, recipe cards, and job aids) in partnership with Learning and Development.
- Establish and maintain a feedback mechanism for operational communications.
- Partner with the communications team on executive-level writing and communications.
- Promote CAVA's mission, values, and competencies through the in-restaurant experience.
- Adhere to policies and procedures that reinforce a service-oriented mindset.
- Manage expectations regarding timelines within and across teams, fulfilling our responsibilities accordingly.
- Build trust with Team Members and Managers by consistently embodying CAVA's values.
- Demonstrate discipline in maintaining consistent performance, communication, and attitude daily.
- Actively engage in departmental contributions to complete tasks and achieve company objectives.
- Acknowledge the emotional investment each Team Member has in the personal and organizational success of the business.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven success in crafting clear, compelling, and brand-aligned messaging and materials.
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage effective communication initiatives.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, showcasing clarity of thought, influence, and appropriate tone.
- History of collaboration and fostering positive, productive relationships with multiple internal partners.
- Passionate, dedicated, and eager to learn, with a foundation of kindness, honesty, and integrity.
- Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented, capable of balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with various desktop publishing and design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Publisher, WordPress, Canva, PowerPoint, Illustrator).
- Innovative in finding new and creative ways to communicate effectively.
- Data-driven, focusing on measuring results and developing ROI for each project through reaction, learning, behavior, and outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and adept in time management.
- A passion for food, people, and storytelling.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Spanish, bachelor's degree in communications, English, PR, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with project management software such as Monday.com.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain a stationary position to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Must be able to identify, analyze, and assess details.
- For certain roles, must be able to occasionally move or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively and exchange information accurately.
- Consistently positions self and moves about to support ordinary restaurant or food production operations, as applicable.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
