About the Role

Americans for Financial Reform Education Fund (AFREF) is seeking a skilled Communications Associate or Communications Coordinator to support our media and communications strategies.

This role will play a critical part in our efforts to hold Wall Street accountable and make finance work for the people, not against them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor news flow in key areas of interest and circulate relevant information to task forces;
  • Write and edit news releases, op-eds, and other materials for public consumption;
  • Build relationships with journalists covering our issues and facilitate conversations between policy and campaigns staff;
  • Contribute to building and maintaining our coalition by assisting organizational partners with media work;
  • Build, maintain, and audit media lists;
  • Update our website to reflect our media presence and prepare media highlights;
  • Contribute to special research projects and events as needed;
  • Work with other staff to execute our integrated communications strategy;
  • Assist and, when necessary, stand in for the Communications Director in internal and external communications.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000-$70,000 for Communications Associate and $70,000-$85,000 for Communications Coordinator, commensurate with experience. We also provide generous benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401K.
