Job Overview

Position Summary:

The IT Helpdesk Technician plays a crucial role in delivering technical assistance and support to users across the organization. This position entails diagnosing and resolving hardware and software challenges, managing user profiles, and ensuring the effective functioning of IT infrastructure.

Key Duties:

- Technical Assistance:

Address technical support inquiries through various communication channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.

Identify and rectify hardware, software, and network complications.

Provide assistance for multiple operating systems, such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Support the setup, configuration, and upkeep of computer systems, applications, and peripherals.

- User Account Management:

Establish, adjust, and oversee user accounts in Active Directory and other relevant systems.

Configure and manage user email accounts and access rights.

Offer training and support to users regarding IT best practices and software application usage.

- System Oversight:

Continuously monitor and maintain IT systems and networks.

Conduct regular maintenance activities, including system backups, patch updates, and routine upgrades.

Assist in the rollout of new hardware and software solutions.

- Documentation:

Keep precise records of IT support inquiries and their resolutions.

Create and update technical documentation, such as user manuals and FAQs.

Analyze and report on IT support metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for enhancement.

- Security Management:

Implement and uphold IT security protocols and procedures.

Assist in managing antivirus solutions and firewall configurations.

Respond to security incidents and contribute to disaster recovery initiatives.

- Project Collaboration:

Work alongside the IT team on various projects, including system upgrades, network setups, and software implementations.

Provide insights and support for improvements in IT infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience in a technical support or IT helpdesk capacity.

Familiarity with diverse operating systems, networking protocols, and hardware components.

Skills:

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Capability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently.

Customer-focused with an emphasis on user satisfaction.

Certifications:

CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Client, or other relevant certifications (preferred).
