The Senior Technical Assistant plays a pivotal role within our Underwriting Support division, providing essential assistance to commercial underwriters in managing both new and ongoing customer service inquiries. This position is crucial for ensuring the integrity of customer information records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and regularly update rating manuals, ensuring all changes to programs, rates, underwriting guidelines, and standard procedures are accurately logged.
  • Handle a diverse array of rating tasks, including the manual preparation of new and renewal policies, audits, and endorsements for digital input.
  • Review applications and facilitate the issuance of commercial line policies.
  • Collaborate with Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants to gather current information necessary for rating and issuing policies, endorsements, and quotes.
  • Uphold the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, applying a thorough understanding of compliance policies, procedures, and applicable standards in all work activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in rating multi-state policies and providing commercial insurance underwriting support, particularly with large accounts, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with all commercial line coverages, endorsements, rules, and regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capability to make sound independent judgments is essential.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills alongside strong verbal and written communication abilities are vital.
