Senior Heavy Construction Supervisor

Our client, a reputable firm in the heavy civil construction sector, is looking for an experienced SENIOR HEAVY CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR.

Position Overview:

The Supervisor oversees the activities of personnel engaged in construction and maintenance tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to the company's safety, quality, and productivity standards. The Supervisor analyzes contract specifications and project scope to develop a comprehensive execution strategy for construction and maintenance, considering timelines, staffing needs, and available resources.

Key Responsibilities:


• Maintain a safe working environment for all team members.


• Assemble project teams, including supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other personnel at project initiation.


• Manage the procurement of tools and materials, ensuring timely delivery to meet project schedules.


• Collaborate with and guide supervisory staff and subcontractors in planning and executing project phases to meet deadlines.


• Direct subordinate supervisors to fulfill contract obligations effectively.


• Work with engineering staff, inspectors, and suppliers to troubleshoot issues and enhance construction methods.


• Conduct inspections and supervise all ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications and adherence to production timelines.


• Prepare or receive reports from team members regarding productivity, progress, materials used, and costs, adjusting schedules and plans as necessary.


• Oversee teams involved in significant maintenance or renovation projects, assigning workers based on project type and required skills.


• Establish and manage the methods, means, and schedule for executing the project scope.


• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Supervisor in Heavy Civil Construction.


• Comprehensive understanding of all construction aspects, including on-site inspections, compliance with contract documents, scheduling, budgeting, progress reporting, and project closure.


• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage team members and subcontractors, ensuring client satisfaction.


• Ability to communicate with clients and swiftly resolve any issues that may arise.


• Commitment to upholding strict safety standards and procedures.
