Position Overview

DPR Construction is in search of an Electrical Project Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction. This role entails overseeing the daily scheduling and field coordination of all facets related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage systems, and fire sprinkler scopes within various projects. The Electrical Project Supervisor will collaborate with the field leadership team and will be accountable for the planning and execution of system start-up, testing, balancing, and commissioning processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist both pre-construction and project teams in evaluating trade partner proposals, schedules, and logistics.
  • Oversee the installation of systems including electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection design/construction coordination.
  • Engage in the review of electrical-related shop drawings and submittals.
  • Contribute to the formulation of comprehensive commissioning plans for all electrical systems, detailing test requirements, necessary inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, and integrated test plans that showcase full system operations.
  • Provide onsite construction support for MEP systems, supervising the start-up, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification of these systems, which includes owner training and project closeout.
  • Develop and implement project-specific MEP quality and safety programs, including participating in safety cause mapping for post-MEP safety events.
  • Create and manage construction schedules, perform regular updates, monitor logic relationships, and incorporate new activities and impacts.
  • Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain effective relationships with neighboring occupants.
  • Negotiate with relevant authorities to achieve project occupancy milestones.
  • Lead the initiative for a safety program that promotes an injury-free environment.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource allocation in conjunction with DPR's self-perform work crews.
  • Encourage the professional growth of foremen to transition into future supervisory roles.
  • Act as the primary representative of DPR field operations, interfacing with owners and design teams.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, detail-oriented team player capable of managing multiple tasks while producing high-quality work and consistently meeting deadlines. Key qualifications include:
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction concepts and relevant codes.
  • Able to collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and resolve complex issues related to electrical design and construction.
  • Proficient in conducting complex meetings with multiple participants, issuing minutes promptly, and following up on deliverables.
  • Solid understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and their integration with mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • Knowledge of the test and balance process and its requirements.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and their sequences in relation to MEP.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety regulations.
  • Ability to foster a culture of safety within a construction environment.
  • Proficient in current virtual design and construction software is preferred.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning processes; knowledge of Primavera P6 is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam.
  • Comfortable in an open and collaborative working environment.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to create and nurture a positive team environment.
  • 5+ years of experience as an MEP Supervisor, ideally within DPR's core markets.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
