Warwick, Rhode Island, United States Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England Full time
Position Overview

The AmeriCorps program offers a unique opportunity for individuals aged 18 and older to engage in community service for a year. As a member of the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE), you will play a pivotal role in delivering programs to youth members and supporting the growth of our organization.

Role Responsibilities

In the capacity of the Girl Scout Leadership Program Coordinator, your primary focus will be on organizing and facilitating short-term troops that foster social and emotional skill development among youth. Your efforts will contribute to enhancing their self-esteem, instilling positive values, and equipping them with essential life skills. Activities may include earning badges, participating in cookie sales, exploring scientific concepts, enjoying outdoor adventures, and engaging in community service initiatives—all integral components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This program caters to girls and gender-expansive youth from kindergarten through 12th grade.

  1. Developing a robust sense of identity.
  2. Exhibiting positive ethical standards.
  3. Embracing challenges and learning from failures.
  4. Building and sustaining healthy relationships.
  5. Identifying and addressing community issues.
Community Engagement

In addition to direct interaction with youth, you will also be responsible for promoting Girl Scout membership by organizing and participating in recruitment events, school assemblies, and meetings with parents and community organizations.

Professional Development

AmeriCorps members will acquire valuable professional experience and have access to development opportunities throughout the year, both online and in-person. This position is particularly suitable for college students, substitute teachers, or paraprofessionals.
