Job Title: Operations Manager for Aquatic Programs

Reports to: General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Overview: Responsible for ensuring the excellence and efficiency of daily operations at Goldfish Swim School, including team management, aquatic services, financial oversight, customer relations, retail and concession management, event coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages daily operations to guarantee adherence to Goldfish Swim School's standard procedures.
  • Supports the General Manager and department leaders in accomplishing daily operational tasks.
  • Leads the team at Goldfish Swim School to foster high productivity, exceptional performance, and positive workplace morale.
  • Trains and supervises the aquatics team to deliver outstanding swim instruction to students.
  • Provides training in sales and marketing to all eligible sales personnel.
  • Guides the retail and concession departments to ensure a balanced selection of products and appropriate pricing strategies.
  • Trains and manages event staff to uphold Goldfish Swim School's operational standards.
  • Develops proficiency in the Links software for efficient booking, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Acquires comprehensive knowledge of pool operations to maintain a safe and hygienic swimming environment.
  • Initiates and coordinates employee engagement activities to enhance workplace satisfaction.
  • Directs the execution of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety protocols relevant to the facility.
  • Maintains current certifications and stays informed on trends in aquatics and management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the employer.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with children.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Must successfully complete background checks (included with training).
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is essential.
  • Preferred: Two or more years of management experience.
  • Preferred: Two or more years as a swimming instructor.
  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications are mandatory; shallow water attendant certification is highly recommended.

Work Environment: The employee is frequently exposed to warm and humid conditions, with a moderate noise level.
