Project Controls Manager Job Description

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing project controls staff and providing comprehensive cost control, reports, and forecasts for both the project team and the client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain multiple project cost reports on a weekly basis, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to both internal and client stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain multiple reports on weekly and monthly labor progress and performance, project cost tracking, and indirect labor, rental equipment, and subcontract costs.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a change management system, including change orders, budget shifts, and trends, including contingency management.
  • Provide timely and accurate forward-looking analysis and mitigation plan development to reduce or eliminate unforeseen cost impacts.
  • Actively participate in reviews of all project controls deliverables with the project team.
  • Assist management in forecasting project expected costs for monthly reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain budgets in progress tracking tools.
  • Assist with auditing payroll coding on a weekly basis.
  • Perform data audits to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Liaison with procurement and billing departments.
  • Make cost corrections.
  • Understand earned value management systems.
  • Manage and oversee Project Controls Staff, including a scheduler and a team that will be utilized in the development of work packages and tracking progress.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Controls.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of scheduling and costing principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
