Job Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee utility construction and maintenance initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise projects involving large-scale developments, including residential subdivisions and commercial upgrades.
- Conduct design evaluations, approve cost estimates, and monitor work activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Facilitate communication among stakeholders, including customers, team members, and external agencies.
- Participate in project scheduling and prioritize tasks to align with organizational objectives.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior project leaders and designers.
- Oversee the initiation and management of line extension contracts.
- Direct the efforts of team members assigned to specific projects.
- Negotiate and manage contracts related to project services and materials.
- Contribute to team performance by providing insights on personnel recommendations.
- Review project metrics and implement adjustments to meet team goals.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of gas and electric systems, including design and construction principles.
- Strong public relations skills to effectively engage with customers and community stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret industry standards and regulations related to utility design and construction.
- Experience in managing utility outages and coordinating inspections.
- Advanced understanding of right-of-way and environmental regulations.
- Proficient in contract administration and utility line extension policies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 7-8 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in project management or equivalent experience.
- Experience in utility design or construction is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license required.
Work Environment:
This role involves both office and fieldwork, requiring regular site visits and adherence to safety protocols.
