VC-25B Structures Mechanic*Job Description
We are looking for skilled structures mechanics to contribute to the VC-25B Program in a dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will include the maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and their components, which may involve moderate complexity. This encompasses areas such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
Utilizing your technical expertise in airframe and power plant systems, you will diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore the equipment to optimal condition.
A comprehensive understanding of technical documentation, including blueprints and manufacturers' manuals, is essential for resolving moderate to complex issues.
Hard Skills+ Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with heavy aircraft structures+ Proficient in close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation+ Familiarity with aircraft repair procedures and parts replacement+ Extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modifications+ Competence in using specialized aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and sheet metal brakes+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications+ Proficient in utilizing computer systems for accessing work instructions and training materials+ Capable of operating forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric powered elevating equipmentSoft Skills
+ Strong ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines+ Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians+ Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays+ Adaptability to changing schedules based on operational requirementsJob Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 9 Month(s).Work Site
This position requires full on-site presence.Work Environment
This role involves working in confined spaces, climbing vertical work ladders, lifting loads of approximately 35 pounds, and using personal protective equipment. You will encounter noise and elevated platforms, and must pass visual acuity and color perception assessments. Handling, using, and disposing of hazardous materials is required, along with maintaining necessary certifications and licenses. Variable shifts, including 1st and 2nd shifts, will be based on business needs.
