Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accounting Specialist role is essential for maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise within the finance department. This experienced position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and plays a critical role in the financial operations of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct daily reconciliations of warranty accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare weekly freight billing statements and travel expense entries, along with calculating monthly and quarterly accruals.
  • Collaborate with field teams on claims processed with carriers and manage monthly accruals.
  • Execute weekly audits of payment transactions.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Take an active role in the month-end closing process.
  • Assist with both Internal and External Audit requirements.
  • Identify and lead projects aimed at enhancing process efficiencies.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Watsco offers a competitive salary range of $70K-$75K, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience with the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Strong computer proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, coupled with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
